Accessing, querying or browsing image files in an intuitive manner
is quite difficult when the volume of data exceeds the 100Mb. In
this project was built an inovaGIS/GIServer applicattion to
overcome this problem. In it the user can browse and visualize
very large images (100Mb) using only an internet browser with no
plugins necessary. The user make requests to the broswer, in a
interactive fashion with buttons to pan and zoom the image. Each
requests calls a CGI that access the image database, extracts
from the image the requested geographic area and scale and
returns it back to the user's broswer in JPEG format.
